Increase productivity and well-being with Pomodoro

Table of Contents

Have you noticed this too? We allow ourselves to be distracted far too often in everyday life. Whether we’re constantly picking up our smartphone or talking to nice colleagues at the coffee machine. There’s no question: procrastination can sometimes even be fun, but frequent distraction usually has a negative impact on our well-being and productivity.

Focused work can be a blessing #

I recently discovered the Android app Goodtime. It can be found in the F-Droid and Google Play store as well as on GitHub. Goodtime is based on Pomodoro, a time management technique that aims to increase productivity and focus on one task at a time. The basic idea behind Pomodoro is to divide tasks into short intervals and focus on one task for a certain amount of time, followed by short breaks.

I have created two profiles in the app, with 12 and 24 minutes, followed by short breaks. I find it practical that the app can switch to a “do not disturb” mode as soon as you start a session. Otherwise, the app is kept rather simple - or let’s say distraction-free. Nevertheless, there are options for setting tags and displaying detailed evaluations.
