Monitor websites for changes

For some time now, I have been using a self-hosted instance of ChangeDetection.io, which notifies me as soon as websites on my watchlist change. After a short training period and overcoming a few minor hurdles, everything runs very reliably.

The web application makes monitoring websites very easy. All settings can be made conveniently in the browser. This was very different with the CLI tool urlwatch, which I had been using until then. And so, after a short test phase, the switch was quickly sealed.

ChangeDetection.io is particularly flexible when it comes to selecting the notification. There are a variety of services available, including email of course and - what I use - Pushover.

Whether you want to be informed about every change, no matter how small, or only when something changes in a certain area, can be defined very precisely using various filters. This is particularly easy with the Visual Selector. If you want, you can also let off steam with regular expressions.

I think it’s a bit of a shame that the web application doesn’t come with user administration and can therefore only be used by one person.
